BODEGA is a three-year research project co-funded by the European Commission within the EU Framework Programme for Research and Innovation – Horizon 2020 under the topic BES-14-2014: Ethical Societal Dimension, Human factors in border control – Proactive Enhancement of Human Performance in Border Control.
The project is coordinated by VTT – the Technical Research Centre of Finland – and gathers a consortium consisting of 15 partners from 7 European countries. Its aim is to improve expertise on human factors in relation to border control and thus to improve the efficiency of the process without creating side effects for border control agents & managers and for travelers.
CEIS is in charge of mapping and engaging with the various stakeholders involved in border control at the EU level. Drawing from its long-standing experience in managing end-users’ communities, CEIS will create a network, which will be instrumental in identifying end-users’ needs, facilitating the exchange of best practices and assessing the project’s results. CEIS will also contribute to the analysis of the human factors’ aspects of border control processes.
CEIS’ participation in the BODEGA project will strengthen the visibility of the company in the areas of border management and human factors studies. CEIS has indeed developed a specific expertise of human factors to better understand individual – but also social and organisational – dimensions that can impact the daily work of security actors. The project will also foster working interactions between CEIS and end-users – in particular national, European and international authorities and law enforcement agencies involved in the management of European borders.
